Pyrite, a mineral containing iron and sulfur, is also known as fool's gold. This lovely material was discovered in Russia. The drusy pyrite shows beautiful, colorful iridescence over the surface. A surface encrusted by tiny crystals is called a "druse".

Sugilite is a beautiful deep purple stone found in Africa, usually in association with manganese.
